It's linear, and there's almost no wiggle room. Tanks - We are in a situation where Heavy=Repairs, Medium=Camo, Lights=Camo, SPGs=BIA. Also, things like stealthy battleships and tanky cruisers can be a very viable build, unlike in Tanks where going full camo on a Maus or full repairs on a Leo 1 are largely worthless. Not only does it require less exp to get a maxed out captain, but the existence of signals and camo also alleviates the captain grind tremendously. In fact, with a few signals and a camo slapped on, getting 3 skills can easily take only 3-5 battles. Warships - It does not take long to get many good skills in Warships. Skills can also become null and void when moving crews up tank lines or into premiums, such as the existence of extra radio operators/loaders. You are only able to see how much exp you need to get to the next percentage level, and not what you need to hit 100%. Not many people have 2-3 perk crews, let alone 4-6. Tanks - Skills take a very long time to grind out. This is odd to me because in a game where gameplay is considered to be slow, we get a fast, immediate warning of when we're spotted, whereas in a game where gameplay is faster, we get a 3 second delay. There is also no delay, so as soon as you are spotted, you are notified immediately. Even if you are retraining a captain from a previous/different ship, sixth sense still works regardless. There is no need to grind for it, every captain is guaranteed this basic skill. Warships - Unlike Tanks, Warships has given every single ship sixth sense free of charge. Tanks also has a 3 second delay, and while that might have been acceptable before when we had that terrible 1 second delay in spotting someone, now I find it to be rather uncomfortable. That's many matches without knowing when you're lit, forcing yourself to be passive, and limiting your carrying capacity in a match. You have to hit 100% efficiency, and then you need to grind out for 100% on the Sixth Sense perk. Even with exp boosters and prem, this still takes an annoyingly large amount of matches. Combine that with a stock/semi-stock vehicle. Tanks - Unless we have gold/willing to spend it on a crew, we either have to grind crews from 50% or 75% efficiency. If I fucked up anywhere or missed anything, please do correct me. I'm going to put up the differences here, since I wonder what the community thinks of this large difference between the two. Listening to friends play Tanks now, it is honestly surprising when I realize how so many of the issues in Tanks have been addressed in Warships. I have played Tanks (30k matches) and currently play Warships (1.5k matches). I'm curious to see what people think of this. /r/wotmemes for meme posts that aren't on Mondays./r/TankPorn for all things Tanks and Armoured Fighting Vehicles./r/worldoftanksconsole for Xbox and PS4 players. If you're new, read this guide and then this one.Apply for a flair here!
